Description:The Texas Occupational Health Surveillance program of the Texas Department of State Health Services reached out to partner with the Migrant Clinicians Network, the Farmworker Justice, and the National Center for Farmworker Health to present the program's findings on pesticide exposure reporting for Texas farmworkers in the 23rd Annual Midwest Stream Farmworker Health Forum (South Padre Island, Texas). The program findings reveal a marked underreporting of pesticide exposure for farmworkers. Presenting this information to attendees of the forum, which included healthcare providers, farmworker advocates, and community health workers, helped focus attention on and increased awareness of this important issue of Texas farmworkers. The presentation, Pesticide Exposure Farmworker Underreporting, can be downloaded from http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/epitox/educational/TX-farmworker-underreporting.pdf.
