  The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) was created to conduct research and training and make recommendations for the prevention of work-related illnesses and injuries. NIOSH developed the Education and Research Centers (ERC's) and currently funds 16 ERCs at universities to serve as regional resources and provide multidisciplinary graduate and continuing education programs in occupational medicine, occupational health nursing and industrial hygiene and safety, Listed below are current Continuing Education (CE) course topics offered by the NIOSH Education and Research Centers.
