  The present report describes the results of a case-control epidemiologic study of parental (both maternal and paternal) occupation during pregnancy in relation to selected "adverse" reproductive outcomes of pregnancy. This study uses information gathered as part of the Collaborative Perinatal Project (CCP), NINCDS, a large-scale study of some 55,000 pregnancies. A major purpose of the present study (of 14,038 pregnancies of the original CPP population) was to review the available CPP information on the parents' work histories (during gestation) and to identify and measure the effects of occupation on "poor" pregnancy outcome. The results are presented separately for maternal and paternal industries and occupations as recorded in the CPP data collection forms.
