The pneumoconiosis control in China.

  Methods being used to prevent pneumoconiosis in China were discussed. Various methods were being tried to bring the pneumoconiosis situation in China under better control. In order to reduce the dust hazard, the nation's inspectors were carrying out examinations and approving the various stages of construction products. Dust proof equipment was required in the construction of new buildings as well as in the rebuilding or extension of other buildings. Inspectors encouraged enterprises and factories to adopt active prevention measures to improve working conditions and reduce the dust density in the workplace. Efforts were underway to resolve dust problems in coal mining, metal mining, building material trades, glass manufacturing, ceramics industry, refractory manufacturing, casting, and tunnel construction engineering. Technical measures for dust proofing such as wet working, ventilating and airtight construction were being tried to lessen the exposure to dust in the working environment.
