  Worker exposures to painting materials were studied at the Ford Motor Company, Los Angeles Assembly Facility (SIC-3711) in Pico Rivera, California, on January 30, 1979. The company was under consideration for inclusion in a NIOSH study of health hazards in the painting trade. Approximately 99 of the employees at the facility were assigned to the painting operations that were surveyed. The company had a safety and industrial hygiene program. Medical services were furnished by one fulltime physician and three nurses. Various types of paint primers, solvents, and enamel paints were used during painting operations. The authors recommend that this facility be considered for the painting hazards study.
