Industrial hygiene report of mechanical cotton picker operator exposure to DEF at Garrett and Garrett, Dos Palos, California.

  Exposure of mechanical cotton picker operators (SIC-3523) to s,s,s,- tributylphosphorotrithioate (78488) (DEF) on the Lorenzetti farm in Dos Palos, California was surveyed on November 16 and 17, 1978. The respiratory samples of DEF ranged from 13.1 to 1068.4 nanograms per cubic meter. The author notes that sampling occurred following heavy rains and adverse weather conditions, and he recommends that additional respiratory and dermal sampling be conducted during normal weather conditions which may encourage greater DEF absorption.
