  An occupational health program has the goal of preserving and improving the health of the entire work force. The role of administration, the position of health professionals in the management hierarchy, and the basic concept of the program are described. The duties of the health professionals, facilities, records, industrial hygiene, and safety and special programs are discussed. Two additional goals of the occupational health program may include the possible effects of effluents and the social impact of operations on the community, and the health evaluation of new, modified and present products.
