This is a final report covering work performed to establish recommended standards for occupational eye and face protective devices. The report covers the following areas: the determination of eye and face protection needs; the development of eye and face protection needs versus devices matrix; a study and evaluation of eye injuries involving contact lenses; a search and evaluation of eye threshold limit values; an evaluation of plastic and glass lens performance; an evaluation of current standards and specifications derivations; a study of lens distortion and/or prism effects; the identification and development of applicable eye and face protective attributes; and the development of a recommended standard for occupational and educational eye and face protection.
