  Each category of ventilation, natural, dilution, and local exhaust is discussed along with its advantages and disadvantages. The use of natural ventilation is not advised within a building. Dilution or mechanical general ventilation, which utilizes fans to remove contaminated air, requires vast quantities of air to control vapors with low threshold limit values. The most efficient type of ventilation is local exhaust which requires a smaller fan and a smaller volume of air.
