Description:The general characteristics of noise instrumentation systems for measuring sound and the various types of field noise measurements are outlined. Included are the elements of an instrumentation system, the basic functions, reliability, transducers (pressure, piezoelectric, condenser and vibration), sound level meter, vibration meter, frequency analyzer, impulse sound analyzer, graphic level recorder, magnetic tape recorder, calibrator, sound exposure monitor, oscilloscope, real time analyzer and audiometer. The types of field noise measurements include general sound survey, sound exposure survey, sound survey, recorded sound survey, recorded interview survey, measurement for reverberation time and survey for transmission loss determination.
