Description:Observation of a worker engaged in furniture refinishing using solvents including methylene-chloride (75092), ethyl-alcohol (64175), and methyl-alcohol (67561) reveals poor ventilation in the work area and high levels of toxic vapors. The worker shows no evidence of central nervous system depression characteristic of exposure to the solvents. Improved ventilation is recommended to prevent exposure to levels of solvents which could cause him to become symptomatic.
