  Evaluation of hazards arising out of exposure to heat, noise, coal tar pitch volatiles, carbon-monoxide (630080), graphite, and coal dust in the coke oven unit, coke plant department, and blast furnace department of a steel company, with report pertaining only to coal tar pitch volatiles and noise measurements. Recommendations include the use of Bureau of Mines approved respirators for pneumoconiosis- producing dust for all persons working in the coke and coal tar pitch areas, rotation of workers on top of coke ovens to prevent heat exhaustion, provision of protective clothing, implementation of engineering controls for reducing noise levels, and provision of protective devices until such controls are effected.
