Description:Environmental survey reveals no hazardous concentrations of styrene (100425), methylene chloride (75092), toluene (108883), acetone (67641), and methylene bisphenyl isocyanate (MDI) in a plant manufacturing reinforced plastic tanks. Medical evaluation of workers shows no symptoms of exposure to toxic concentrations and normal pulmonary function tests. Recommendations include continued maintenance of ventilation systems, regular medical monitoring, use of respirators by polyurethane foam (9009545) machine operators, and use of respirators and fire prevention precautions in confined areas containing organic vapors, and relocation of workers showing sensitivity to MDI.
