  Toxicity study of a blanket wash and roller cleaner in an offset press room indicates no health hazard, despite the lack of ventilation, based on frequency of use, observation of the area, employee interviews revealing no adverse effects, and chemical data supplied by the solvent manufacturer. Recommendations to minimize the effect of solvent odors to sensitive workers include conducting cleaning operations late in the day to minimize number of persons exposed and allow for overnight dissipation of vapors, providing added ventilation, and discarding used towels immediately in a closed container.
