Description:Environmental evaluation and employee interviews at the plastics department of a furniture mill reveal that the levels of exposure to styrene (100425) and methylene chloride (75092) do not present health hazards. A minimal potential hazard exists from exposure to naphtha vapors resulting not from the concentrations measured, but from the work practices in effect at the time of evaluation. Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (1338234) concentrations were not evaluated, for lack of satisfactory analytical and sampling techniques. A case of rash is reported in one worker.
