Description:Veneer dryer emissions, principally abietic (514103) and pimaric- acids (127275) and alpha and beta-pinene (1330161), present in the vicinity of the veneer dryer operations (SIC-2436) under usual working conditions, may produce transient irritation of the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and throat, as well as the upper respiratory tract, producing cough. Veneer dryer emissions as well as smoke from fires that occasionally break out in the dryers may transiently aggravate underlying asthmatic or other chronic respiratory conditions.
