Description:Based on the analysis of environmental samples and the review of medical interviews carried out at a furniture stripping and refinishing shop (SIC-7699), it was determined that the employees working in this plant were not exposed to harmful concentrations of solvents on the day of the study. Employee exposure to xylene (1330207), dimethylformamide (68122), benzene (71432) and toluene (108883) was determined in breathing zone and general area air samples. Recommendations are made for the continuation of the current practice of respirator use during periods of potential exposure. [Description provided by NIOSH]
