  A health hazard evaluation was conducted at the Western Gear Corporation (SIC-3541), Jamestown, North Dakota, to evaluate the potential hazards associated with exposure to machining and cutting oils, methanol (67561), toluene (108883), methyl-ethyl-ketone (78933), methyl-isobutyl-ketone (108101), butyl-cellosolve (111762), methylene-chloride (75092), xylene (1330207), n-butyl-acetate (123864), aluminum (7429905), lead (7439921), zinc (7440666), chromium (7440473), nitric-acid, and hydrochloric-acid (7647010). All airborne concentrations of chemicals were well within the most recent evaluation criteria, with the exception of oil mist. A potential health hazard was documented in the machine shop where 54 percent of the workers were overexposed to airborne concentrations of oil mist. Control measures are recommended.
