Description:A Health Hazard Evaluation investigation was conducted by NIOSH at Keller Columbus Incorporated, Columbus, Ohio, a facility engaged in the production of gas, electric and double oven stoves (SIC-3631). The survey was prompted by a request from an authorized representative of the approximately 100 affected employees regarding workers alleged exposure to toxic dusts, exhaust fumes, and toxic vapors, as well as employees not using the correct respirators. Environmental sampling indicated that the levels of nuisance dust and airborne solvents in air did not exceed the current standards
the same was valid for the airborne concentrations of fibrous glass. Carbon-monoxide (630080) gas levels generated by the fork lift trucks exceeded the NIOSH recommended standard. Recommendations are made for maintaining and improving working conditions. [Description provided by NIOSH]
