  A Health Hazard Evaluation investigation was conducted by NIOSH on August 2-3, 1977, at the Tamarack Homes plant in Weiser, Idaho, a facility engaged in the manufacturing of mobile homes (SIC-2451) and solar furnaces (SIC-3433). The survey was prompted by a request from the management regarding the possible toxic effects of methylene-bisphenyl-isocyanate (10031751) used in polyurethane-foam (9009545) production, on the health of the approximately 5 affected employees. Environmental sampling revealed that the unit assemblyman's exposure to methylene-bisphenyl-isocyanate was potentially toxic. Sample results showed that the worker was exposed to at least 0.047ppm and 0.036ppm for two periods of least 20 minutes each, which are in excess of the evaluation criteria of protection. Under the current production rate, his 8 hour time weighed average exposure is less than 0.02ppm. Recommendations are made for improving the prevailing working conditions.
