  Power density measurements were taken on August 22 and April 26, 1979 in response to a request by an authorized employee representative of the Radio Communications Section of Consolidated Edison (SIC-4832) in Astoria New York City, to determine the potential exposure of 10 employees to radio frequency radiation. Measurements were made approximately 2 inches from the power source, and in the garage at the perimeter of a mobile van with communications equipment in operation. Power densities ranged from power source, and decreased rapidly with distance. Measurements at the van ranged from 0.10 to 0.25 milliwatts per square centimeter. All measurements were below the OSHA standard of 10 milliwatts per square centimeter. The investigator concludes that no hazard was identified, and no recommendations were considered necessary.
