  Medical records were reviewed and workers, management and a company physician were interviewed on November 7 and 29, 1979 to evaluate the dermatitis caused by skin contact with triethylene-glycol- diacrylate (1680213) (TDA) at DuPont Photo Products (SIC-3861) in Parlin, New Jersey. An evaluation was requested by the employees to supply assistance in controlling skin burns, allegedly resulting from contact with TAD and affecting 81 of 263 workers. A five year irritating dermatitis attack rate of 21 percent among the plant operators in the most vulnerable areas was determined. The authors conclude that a dermatitis hazard due to TDA contact existed. They recommend that a fixed routine of washing be instituted, a barrier cream be used on exposed areas, employees be made aware of TDA hazards and the need for washups, all leaks in equipment be repaired, and a less toxic substitute chemical be investigated to replace TDA.
