Description:Environmental surveys were conducted in October, 1979, to evaluate potential exposure to dinitrotoluene (25321146), chlorobenzene (108907), dichlorobenzene (25321226), 1,3,5-trichlorobenzene (108703), nitrobenzene (98953), and 1-chloro-2-nitrobenzene (88733) at the Dupont Chamber Worksite (SIC-2899) in Deepwater, New Jersey. The evaluation was requested by the employees on behalf of an unspecified number of workers. Chlorobenzene concentrations ranged from undetectable to 1.9 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3), below the OSHA standard of 350 mg/m3
dinitrotoluene ranged from undetectable to 0.042 mg/m3, below the OSHA standard of 1.5 mg/m3. None of the other compounds were detected. The author concludes that no hazards existed at this facility. [Description provided by NIOSH]
