Description:Area air samples were analyzed for the presence of asbestos (1332214) at the New York Air Route Traffic Control Center in Ronkonkoma, New York on October 7, 1980. The evaluation was requested by the management to determine the potential asbestos exposure for an unspecified number of workers. Analysis of area samples for airborne asbestos failed to reveal any asbestos fibers. The author concludes that no hazard from exposure to asbestos fibers exists but recommends that periodic monitoring of sprayed on asbestos surfaces be implemented to ensure that no asbestos is dislodged.
