Description:Worker exposures to ozone (10028156) from an electrostatic copying machine were surveyed on May 6, 1981 at Skil Corporation (SIC-7629) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The evaluation was requested by an employee who experienced a burning sensation in her mouth and throat when using the copying machine. Atmospheric air samples were collected next to the machine while copies were being made and were analyzed for ozone. Concentrations of ozone were 100 micrograms per cubic meter, well below the OSHA standard of 200 micrograms per cubic meter. The author conclude that no ozone exposure hazard exists. He notes that since this survey, the copying machine has been moved to a larger, more ventilated area.
