Description:Environmental air samples were analyzed for carbon-monoxide (630080) at the data entry office of Maimonides Hospital (SIC-8062), in Brooklyn, New York, on March 23 and April 8, 1981. A representative of the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees, District 1199, requested the evaluation on behalf of approximately eight workers carbon-monoxide at concentrations of 6 parts per million (ppm) or less, compared with the OSHA exposure limit of 50ppm. The authors conclude that no health hazard from carbon- monoxide existed at this facility. They recommend that the office door be equipped with stripping to reduce carbon-monoxide seepage from the garage, and that the air intake grills in the office be equipped with louvers to better distribute air circulation at the work level.
