  The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) sampled concentrations of perchloroethylene (127184), trichloroethylene (79016), hexavalent chromium (14127607), toluene (108883), methylene chloride (75092), isobutyl-acetate (110190), acetone (67641), methyl-ethyl-ketone (78933), and asbestos (1332214) at the Western Forge Corporation on June 25 and August 6, 1976. The Western Forge Corporation manufactures hand tools. All substances were found to be either below current evaluative criteria or below the NIOSH limits of detection. NIOSH concluded that workers were not exposed to toxic amounts of the investigated substances. Because safe concentrations of asbestos have not been established NIOSH recommends that the asbestos milling operator wear a respirator.
