Description:On August 15, 1997, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) received a request for a health hazard evaluation (HHE) from the International Union of Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers. This request centered on a union concern that employees at General Electric - Bridgeville Glass Plant (GEBGP), Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, were exposed to hazardous concentrations of mercury (Hg) during glass tubing manufacturing and maintenance activities.
