Description:The proposed system will utilize a mine wide fiber optic backbone to monitor the conditions within the mine, specifically methane levels and temperature. In the event of an excursion from normal operating conditions, a series of progressive alarm signals will be generated. These signals will be communicated to existing supervisory control systems.
