Description:The U. S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) VectorLink Project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through PMI, was awarded to Abt Associates on September 30, 2017. The PMI VectorLink Project (VL) builds on the indoor residual spraying (IRS) campaigns and entomological monitoring activities implemented under the predecessor PMI Africa Indoor Residual Spraying (AIRS) project in 17 African countries with an expanded scope to implement integrated malaria vector control activities. In Year 1 (October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018), VL transitioned 18 countries from the AIRS mechanism to VL with no interruptions, restarted IRS operations in Malawi and Burkina Faso, and began entomological monitoring activities in five new PMI countries (Cambodia, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, and Sierra Leone).
