Description:Firearm injury is a serious public health problem in the United States. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) supports states’ efforts to improve the timeliness of surveillance of emergency department (ED) visits for nonfatal firearm injuries, including overall firearm injuries, intentional self-directed firearm injuries, unintentional firearm injuries, and assault- related firearm injuries. Data can be used to inform state and local prevention and response strategies in areas and populations of greatest need.
