Description:The Preparedness and Emergency Response Research Centers (PERRCs) conducted research to evaluate the structure, capabilities, and performance of public health systems for preparedness and emergency response.
The establishment of these centers was mandated by the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act of 2006, which called for research to improve federal, state, local, and tribal public health preparedness and response systems.
We acknowledge funding support under cooperative agreement, Academic Partnerships to Improve Health, grant number 5 U36 OE000002-04 505, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Collaboration with Academia to Strengthen Public Health Workforce Capacity, parent grant number 3 U36 OE000002-04 S05, CDC, Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response through the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH).
