Description:Becoming Comfortable with Health Equity Concepts and Language will help all audiences understand the place of health communications in removing social obstacles that lead to poor health outcomes and health disparities.
Through CDC’s Health Equity Guiding Principles for Inclusive Communication, you’ll learn about the importance of ensuring communication products and strategies adapt to the specific cultural, linguistic, environmental, and historical situation of each population or audience of focus.
This webinar will feature Desmond Banks, PhD, MPH, and Susan Laird, DNP, MSN, RN, discussing CDC’s commitment to health equity, explaining the need for such guidance, and providing principles, resources, and specific suggestions on a variety of topics to help inform an inclusive approach to public health communications. Closed captioning and continuing education will be available.
