Description:"Existing standards and safety and health conditions are evaluated in a broad representative scope of abrasive blast cleaning operations within various industries, to recommend changes or additions to enhance ventilation, safety, and health criteria and to substantially improve personal protective equipment for abrasive blast cleaning operators and other workers in the pressure blast cleaning area. Topics include technical discussion of portable blast cleaning machines, hand-operated units within blast cleaning rooms, automatic blast cleaning machines, wet blast cleaning machines, past health and industrial accident experience, existing safety and health standards for abrasive blast cleaning, dust exposure, summary of dust exposure hazards, recommended criteria, ventilation and dust removal, sound level exposure, vision impairment, and general safety."
