As part of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) 1999 Bioterrorism Initiative, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was designated to lead an effort working with governmental and non-governmental partners to upgrade the nations’ public health capacity to respond to bioterrorism and establish a Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program (BPRP). Critical to success of the BT Initiative is to ensure capacity is developed at federal, state, and local levels.
Prepared by the Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program – National Center for Infectious Diseases – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
