Description:Updated Oct. 15, 2021
Footnote: Electronic case reporting (eCR) is the automated, real-time exchange of case report information between electronic health records and public health agencies. In partnership with the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE), CDC is rapidly onboarding healthcare facilities to eCR during the COVID-19 pandemic. As of October 15, 2021, more than 9,400 facilities are actively sending COVID-19 electronic initial case reports to public health using eCR. Reports that meet the reporting criteria for multiple jurisdictions are sent to each jurisdiction at the same time.
