Description:These guidelines briefly describe the overseas medical screening process for refugees resettling to the United States, and outlines the guidelines for clinicians evaluating refugees for tuberculosis (TB) during the domestic medical examination for newly arrived refugees. This document does not replace guidelines for the general US patient population but is meant to highlight specific needs in refugees and be used in conjunction with existing guidelines from national authorities (American Thoracic Society [ATS]/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC]/ Infectious Diseases Society of America [IDSA]) and state TB control programs.
