Description:The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has long collaborated with Ministries of Health (MOHs) in Central Asia to better recognize and respond to serious public health threats in the region. In 1995, CDC formally established an office, CDC Central Asia Region (CDC CAR), in Almaty, Kazakhstan to coordinate activities throughout the region. CDC CAR’s aim is to strengthen the capacity to prevent, detect, and control diseases and respond to public health threats.
