      Nine new cases were accepted today. Of these one is a non-paralytic associa'ted case from Nevada, four are non-paralytic Lilly associated vases from Texas, three are Wyeth associated cases from Pennsylvania, and one is a Parke-Davis associated case from Illinois.

      The Illinois case developed weakness in the left deltoid 14 days after Ration in the left arm with Parke-Davis Vaccine, and is the first Cepted case associated with Parke-Davis Vaccine.

      Today PSU accepted three new Wyeth associated cases from Pennsylvania* Of these, two were non-paralytic and the third developed mild weakness of the left leg after inoculation in the left arm. One previously reported case (PSU Case No. Pa-l) was classified as non-paralytic following further investigation.

      Two Epidemic Intelligence Service Officers are now assigned for full time duty in Pennsylvania. Following active investigation over the weekend there are at present a total of only 3 Wyeth associated suspects outstanding* with reports received from Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland within the last 24 hours. It is of interest that Pennsylvania also reports an unusually high incidence of poliomyelitis in unvaccinated children, particularly & the Harrisburg area^ a total of 7 new cases in the past three weeks.

      Vaccinated cases total 88 at 12:00 noon 5-23-55 (Table l).
