Description:The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) began an ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) of Burkina Faso in 1991 to provide guidance for polio eradication. This cooperation has since expanded to include other important health issues. Most recently, CDC has focused on strengthening the country’s public health system by introducing and evaluating new vaccines, and continuing to work toward polio eradication and measles elimination.
CDC works closely with partners in Burkina Faso, including the World Health Organization (WHO), Peace Corps, the United Nations Children’s Fund, and the University of Ouagadougou.
