  Walk-through surveys were conducted at the General Electric facilities in Hudson, Falls and Ft. Edward, New York with particular interest in workers exposed to polychlorinated-biphenyls (1336363) (Aroclors). The process of manufacturing capacitors (SIC-3675) which are filled with dielectric fluid (mainly polychlorinated- biphenyls) is described. Potential hazards also include lead (7439921), trichloroethylene (79016), and noise exposure in processing operations. Industrial hygiene and safety practices are briefly discussed. A recommendation is made to do industrial hygiene sampling at the plants.
