Description:The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) was the first US laboratory partner called on by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to support the implementation of the PEPFAR program. CDC recognized recognized that APHL had the expertise and experience in laboratory setup, diagnostic methods and safety practices; APHL had been working around the world for more than a decade with multiple partners to strengthen laboratory systems.
