Description:Cotton dust sampling experiments performed at various cotton mills show that, to avoid significant under or over sampling, consideration must be given to sampler inlet characteristics. Lint is the predominant fraction in the measurement of total dust and the vertical elutriator seems effective in the collection of a lint free sample. The use of high efficiency cleaning devices is recommended if workroom air is to be recirculated. [Description provided by NIOSH]
